But there are other losses that have no funeral. No obituary. No casseroles on the front porch. No one tells you how to survive loving people who are still alive, yet no longer part of your life.

I know that kind of loss because I have lived it.

Heart's Renewal was born from my own journey through family estrangement, grandparent alienation, ambiguous loss, and the long road of learning that love does not disappear simply because a relationship has been interrupted.

Here, I write honestly about complicated loss, healing, hope, resilience, and the enduring power of love. Some essays will make you cry. Others will help you breathe a little easier.
